Update On Selangor FC's Current And Upcoming Facilities

As the Malaysian domestic football off-season gets underway, it is the perfect time for us to shift our attention to improving our assets and facilities. Here is an update on Selangor FC's current and soon-to-be-completed facilities.

Red Giants Physio Clinic (RGPC)

The first Selangor FC facility to be featured here is one that has been completed and is currently operational; the Red Giants Physio Clinic. Having started its operation in August earlier this year, the sports physiotherapy centre has since been providing in-house injury treatments to injured players from our main team, youth teams and futsal outfit.

Located on the FAS Training Centre (FASTC) compound in Seksyen 5, Shah Alam, the clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art high intensity laser, shockwave, electrotherapy and targeted radiofrequency machines, as well as treadmills, bicycles and weights. Selangor FC stars such as Halim Saari, Shahrel Fikri and Dinesh Rajasingam too have undergone treatment for their injuries here since RGPC began operating.

In addition to treating our players, the clinic also functions as one of the club's revenue-generating ventures, as it is also open to paying outside clients who have picked up sporting injuries, such as amateur athletes and professional players from other clubs. While aspiring to offer quality treatment at a fraction of the price, clients scheduled for sessions at RGPC will still receive the same level of treatments received by the club stars, on top of one-on-one attention by RGPC physiotherapists. At this time, RGPC treats around 10 clients each day.

For those who are interested, treatment is provided by appointment only, so direct your inquiries and schedule your session through Whatsapp by clicking on this link.

Covered Pitch

The next two facilities to be featured here are nearing completion. One of them is the covered training pitch, which is being built on the north end of the two grass training pitches at FASTC.

The pitch is being built in order to accomodate training during rainy conditions, which do not happen too often, and due to this reason as well as space limitations, it was decided that the pitch will be half the length of a full-sized pitch.

As of the moment, the construction is 60 per cent complete, with the structure that will support the roof already erected. It is expected to be completed by the end of next month.

Offices Annex

Another project that is being concurrently undertaken alongside the pitch is the offices building annex. Situated between the pitchside offices and the covered pitch, the small building will house the technical staff offices upon completion, as well as the club kitchen in the future.

Its construction will be completed in seven weeks' time.

All the facilities improvement projects undertaken has been done in order to strengthen Selangor FC from the ground up. We will embark on more projects in the coming years, such as the addition of more training and recovery equipment, as well as the construction of a recovery pool and a synthetic pitch.
